Important information

Crypto Risks

Edge Theory Marketplace offers provide access to software, signals or community features; they do not sell cryptoassets. If you choose LIVE mode, your selected exchange processes orders in your exchange account. Read these risks before connecting an API or enabling LIVE execution.

LIVE crypto trading can result in the loss of all funds allocated to trading. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

Risks to consider

You may lose everything allocated

Cryptoasset prices can fall sharply, a market can become unavailable, and funds allocated to a LIVE strategy may be lost in full. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

Past and simulated results are not forecasts

Paper trading and backtests are simulations using recorded assumptions and historical data. They are not live performance, do not guarantee future results, and may not reflect live liquidity, fees, slippage, latency or order rejection.

Execution can differ from the signal

Prices move between a signal and an exchange order. A market may gap, an order may be delayed, partially filled, rejected or filled at a different price. Stops and risk settings are not guarantees or a cap on loss.

Liquidity, spreads and market integrity

Low liquidity, wide spreads, concentrated holdings, market manipulation or a loss of buyers can make a fair or timely sale difficult. You may receive less than expected or be unable to exit when you choose.

Exchange, API and cyber-security risks

A connected bot can only make exchange API requests available to its saved key. If you activate LIVE execution, eligible software can submit orders using that connection. A compromised key or account can expose you to unauthorised activity. Keep withdrawals disabled, grant only the permissions required, protect credentials and revoke a key at the exchange if it may be compromised. Exchange outages, account restrictions, software faults and cyber-attacks can disrupt access or execution.

Blockchain and technology risks

Network congestion, outages, software defects, protocol changes, forks or attacks can interrupt transfers or affect an asset’s operation and value. Transfers may be irreversible, and lost or stolen assets may not be recoverable.

Legal, regulatory and counterparty risks

Rules and protections differ by jurisdiction and may change. Exchange failure, an asset issuer’s failure or a service interruption can affect access to funds or assets. Do not assume an exchange balance or cryptoasset has a government guarantee or compensation protection.

Automated trading needs active oversight

A bot can submit orders without you watching each one. Review the selected signal source, exchange, account, execution mode, allocation and risk settings before activation. Monitor open positions and pause the bot if your circumstances or the market change.

Paper and LIVE are different

Edge Theory’s official bot reference and research records are simulated Paper activity. A member LIVE copy, where available, is separate: after you select and activate it, the software can submit eligible orders through your selected exchange API connection. The exchange processes the orders, and the exchange account holds the assets. Paper outcomes do not establish what a LIVE copy will earn or lose.

A LIVE copy can be unavailable because of the bot type, exchange, plan, account, connection status or execution controls. Never treat an offer, signal, backtest or leaderboard as a promise of profit or a personal recommendation.
